Why should employers support professional development for MS practitioners?

Ongoing professional development benefits the individual, the organization, and the public through increasing professional capability and performance of individuals.  Professionals engaged in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the management system need to continually hone and expand their knowledge and skills to keep pace with improvements in the discipline and ensure that standards are being met.

Employee development helps to ensure that skilled workers are implementing best practices.  Organizations that routinely develop and enhance internal knowledge and skills are able to perform at a higher level. Providing development for employees helps employers to attract and develop more competent and educated employees capable of advancing to more responsible positions.
